This website

Every page here is a plain file served to your browser. There are no cookies, no analytics scripts, no tracking pixels, no embedded fonts loaded from somebody else's server, no social media widgets and no advertising. Nothing you do on this site is recorded by us or shared with anybody.

Whoever hosts the site keeps standard server logs for a short period, the sort of thing every web server writes down, and we do not read them or connect them to anybody.

There is one exception, and it is the events page: the calendar is shown inside a frame that comes from Luma, and the "save me a spot" button loads a small piece of code from Luma. If you use either of those, Luma will know about it in the way any website you visit knows about it. Everything on this site works without them, there is always a plain link next to the embed.

Registering for an event

Booking is handled entirely by Luma. When you register, your name and email address are held by Luma, not by us. We can see the guest list for our own events, and we use it for exactly two things: knowing how many chairs to put out, and sending the occasional message about the event you signed up for.

We do not sell it, share it, or add you to anything else. If you want off the list, you can leave the calendar on Luma at any time, or email us and we will remove you.

Luma's own privacy policy covers what they do with it: luma.com/privacy.

Photographs

We take photographs at events and put some of them on the archive page. It is the honest record of what these evenings are, and it is the main reason people who have never been decide to come. There are none up yet, because there has not been an event yet.

You can opt out at the door and nobody will photograph you. If a photograph of you is already up and you would rather it was not, email fam@andcake.dev with a rough description of which one, you do not have to explain why, and we will take it down, usually the same day and always within a week.

Email

If you email us, we keep the email so we can reply and so we remember the conversation. Ask us to delete it and we will.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Write to fam@andcake.dev and we will sort it out, there is no form and no process. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.

If this changes

If we ever turn on privacy-respecting, cookie-free visitor counting, this page gets updated before it goes live rather than after. It is currently off.
